The CMITS Ordering Process

Orders for CMITS must be placed using the Online Order Form.

What happens next?

You will receive an order confirmation email from us and an invoice will follow once the license has been released.

We will begin the process of activating a license and setting up security to ensure that the installation is carried out correctly. Be aware that this will take about 72 hours to get everything ready. While we are working on this, below you will see that we will also need some information from you. Whilst we appreciate that you will be anxious to get started, it makes sense to get everything in place so that your electoral roll, documents and user accounts are all part of the installation package.

We will keep you informed each step of the way, but you too will be expected to play your part, by ensuring you provide the information we require to complete the required configuration prior to installation.

What do we require from you?

Getting CMITS up and running is a joint venture. It will be customised for your use, so you will need to supply us with one or two things to help use provide a 'ready to go' solution. We will need;

  • An electronic copy of your Electoral Roll. You should obtain this from your local authority.
  • A letterhead template in Word, so we can setup the CMITS document creation system. Simply set the appropriate margins, add any header or footer/disclaimer information. Then email a copy to support@cmits.net
  • A press release template in Word, so we can setup the Press Release options. Again use Word to design what you wish to use and email us a copy to support@cmits.net
  • A full list of users who will need access to the system. You will need to provide the full name of each user along with their parliamentary username (the username they use to log onto their PC) Do NOT send details of any login passwords to us, we don't need them.
  • Finally we will need a list of the computer names for each PC on which you wish CMITS to be installed. You can obtain this by clicking on the yellow question mark icon on your desktop or on your Taskbar (WhoAmI). If this is not visible you should go to the Start Menu select All Programs, then HOP Applications and select WhoAmI from there, you will see computername and to the right there is an ID number. This is what we are after for each PC that is to have CMITS installed.

We are aware that currently, many new Members are still awaiting the delivery of PCs etc and the allocation of offices. We are happy to install CMITS on whatever PCs/Laptops are available with a view to installing the other machines as and when they arrive. Please be aware that this ad hoc approach is very time consuming, so please be aware that we are having to manage the installation of a large number of machines. We never know until we begin installing if there are any security or network configuration issues that may need assistance from PICT. This can cause delays and have a knock-on effect to scheduled installations. To be fair, our experience is that these types of issues are uncommon, so we do not anticipate having to deal with many problematic installations. However, we think it important to let you know at this early stage so we manage user expectations in an open and transparent way.

If you require any further help or advice whilst waiting for your order to be processed and the installation being prepared, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards
